Amuri Magnificence!

Yup...so this is what I get up to in my weekends! Took a quick trip home to catch up with my parents and sister (who is about to move to Tasmania!) We shared a spectacular days skiing at Hanmer Springs Ski Area...the place we all learnt to ski and have been back to every year. Really is a special special place!! For more pics of my winter ski adventures check out my snow blog www.snowology.blogspot.com

500th post and I am one year older...again

Me and my Daddio

I turned 28 on Wednesday. 28. Late twenties. Yup.
I'm not one to dwell on the one year older thing, but I do become super reflective on the day!! You know....looking through pictures, remembering the tragic clothing, remembering the tragic behaviour, the realisation that I am lucky to be in a family with two parents still married, that while I am still rounder than I would like to be, more single than I would like to be and poorer than ANYONE would like to be....my life is pareeeettty SWEET!

So I wacked on the red lipstick while still in my P.J's, cos that is what cool, self assured young woman do, and off I trooped to work. I would be lying if I totally wasn't trying to channel this spunky bird below. Wow.

Softly Softly

Brilliant blogger Concrete and Honey is also a talented photographer!! These postcards from her etsy store just oooze fragile natural beauty. Divine. Cannot recommend enough the Sydney based Concrete and Honey blog!

local Queenstown talent!

It's funny how you can be cruising around in your everyday life and not realise that the people around you have incredible creative talents! Emma Butler is a good example of this!! I have known Emma for a little while through mutual friends and work places but had no idea that she was the master behind some incredible custom murals at a new local restaurant in Queenstown!! So we got chatting, and this was revealed and I have now had a good satisfying cruise through her colourful vibrant work at her site. Looking forward to specifying some custom murals myself!!!

little glowing lights

There is just something light, breezy and smiley about the sweet range for Tasmanian based creative Catherine from Little Glowing Lights. Everything above is available at her etsy store and I would highly recommend a visit to her blog here.

creative combo

Here's a nice example of creative minds combining forces! Xanthe from Cinnamon Swan has designed some amazing black on black wrapping paper exclusively for Meadowlark. So next time you get a little piece of silver or gold goodness from them, it will arrive looking even more luxurious than imagined!!

enter Libby Kingscote!

Brace your selves for something a little bit different and refreshing!! Libby Kingscote is a talented young print maker based on her family farm in North Canterbury, NZ. I have had a total crush on her work for sometime now and am pleased to say I am not the only one!!! Only drawback is Libs is an artist...not a blogger or website fiend, so at this stage if you would like to see more of her work or contact for pricing, please contact me and I will refer you on :)

into the gloom

Lucy Gauntlett
is a Clever Bastard...Oh yesss she is!! Her photography is so edgy and dark...really feels like something is about to "happen" in each image and I'm not sure if I want to be there when it does!! Check her out or buy your own here.

hijacked by hats...

So I just found the brother and sister creative duo of Neverland Collective (GREAT name!) via cool site Good As. My brain has been totally hijacked by their whimsical photography showing their range of hats (also funky jewellery) and I am in love. I mean they are just HATS but now, due to those pics...they are hats I have got to HAVE!

mooching around at Moose

I haven't visited the Australian online store Moose for ageeesss...and I am so glad I did today! I have just been having a lovely little trek through all their goodies and have discovered a new favourite ( I need another favourite like a hole in the head...but these things can't be helped!)

retro nudes

I stumbled across Melissa Sharplin in yesterdays Southland Times where she posed with a large scale print of her work above at Wellingtons Affordable Art Show. I have had a long look through her site and especially love her Retro Nudes series. The Christchurch based artist makes her art truly accessible with fine art prints starting at $200 through to large scale giclee prints. Brilliant.
