over the shoulder

wow...am more than a wee bit in love with these bags from Melbourne based accessories label nancybird. They list all their stockists including web stores ..however..shopping is as easy as a click of the mouse at their own gorgeous site.! ech!
"Nancybird is a Melbourne based accessories label, focussing on quality materials and playful, thoughtful design. Much of the range has been hand printed by local Melbourne makers or by the designer, Emily Wright. All leathers are custom made in gorgeous seasonal colours. The collection has a distinctively Australian feel, with influences from Asia, Europe and the Pacific Islands. You can find nancybird at independent retailers throughout Australia and New Zealand."

what are you laughing at??

I just got a fantastic tip off from lupinbunny about the special Australian textile design biz, Laughing Bird. I have had a lovely trawl through the site and could imagine more than one of their tea towels in a frame.

sweetness captured

Got a lovely email from kiwi photographer Hilary Upton this morning. She has recently returned to the colonies after 4 years in London. I have been wading through her divine fine art photography at her SugarSnaps etsy store AND her charming blog.
"A 'Sugar Snap' is a sweet little moment caught - Sweetness Captured!"

beat of the heart

Introducing the SECOND Heart Foundation Lottery House that I have been involved in. This one is in Wanaka and again I had the challenge of furnishing to my concept on a pretty tight budget. After my last effort which was pretty young and fun ( I was told no more wallpaper this time!!) I went for a pretty muted palette of milky browns, soft greens and charcoals. Definitely a slightly more grown up feel, although I couldn't help a few quirky additions. Thanks to my great, talented friend Emily for the the fantastic photos!!

tick tock

OOOhhh new to endemicworld.com are the whimsical, clock hand inspired pendants of designer Emma Louisa. Beautiful.
"SEEDesign was formed in 2006 originally as a freelance industrial and graphic design business. It has been in hibernation for the past year while i have focused my energy on settling in to my fabulous job in the industrial design team at Fisher and Paykel appliances. That done, i'm now back with creative vengeance! "

Online Artisans!

My good friend Georgie P just sent through this link for a new NZ online market place. Jammy seems to be literally jampacked with hand crafted goods!! A must for those wanting to give some real grassroots kiwi crafted gifts this Christmas!
| “Hi, my name is Viv McCormick. I’m a self-taught artist, married to Andy and Mum of three (2 children and 1 dog). I work mainly on glass panels, although I love experimenting on different platforms. I wanted to do something about the high commissions Artists and Craftspeople throughout NZ have to pay when they sell their work. So I’ve created Jammy and now they can sell their own work. There isn’t a lot of rich Artists out there and my hope is Jammy will shift the balance” |

my delirium

I had such a good entry written and then I lost it. It was all about vodka, soda, a late night and how it led me to the new Ladyhawke video for My Delirium and finally to the artist Sarah Larnach. Deep breath. Crazy I know.
Sarah is the Sydney side artist fronting all of the heavy fringed, Kiwi muso, LadyHawke's visual work and now a surreal, dreamy water colour video. Just love it
